Teaching Philosophy

I believe that health and access to healthcare is a human right, and as a pain management pharmacist, my role is to collaborate with patients and interprofessional teams towards goals of wellbeing.  In my role as a clinical pharmacist preceptor, I support the importance of learners and the vital roles they serve in healthcare and encourage them to acknowledge and appreciate the roles they will play as clinicians, leaders, and professionals.

As a new teacher, I am honored and humbled by this opportunity and do not take the responsibility for granted nor think of teaching as a required task.  I plan to continue challenging myself to become a high-quality preceptor and teacher through feedback and additional training.  I want my knowledge and skills to be valuable across pharmacy learners as well as other healthcare professionals.  To do this, I am dedicated to teaching in and out of the pharmacy profession, precepting both students and residents in pharmacy and medicine in clinical settings and seeking feedback from learners and peers alike.
